Kartel Music is looking to bring on board an experienced Digital Marketing Manager with a proven track record in the music industry, particularly in Música Mexicana. This individual will be responsible for crafting and executing tailored marketing strategies for each of our artists, overseeing music release campaigns, and collaborating with the live performance team to maximize audience engagement and project impact across all platforms.

Overview:

The Digital Marketing Manager will lead the development, execution, and optimization of all digital marketing campaigns for Kartel Music. This role focuses on driving growth, engagement, and revenue through paid and organic digital strategies. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in digital advertising, social media management, and data-driven marketing, ensuring that all digital efforts align with the label’s artist development and business goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Artist Mapping, Identity Building and Audience Analysis:
    • Understand each artist’s character, identity, target audience and build a roadmap on how to achieve audience growth and engagement. Understand what our target audience is looking for in an artist. 
    • Develop and implement data-driven digital marketing campaigns tailored to each artist’s needs, releases, and projects.
    • Create omnichannel marketing strategies (social media, email, paid ads, web) that optimize artist visibility and fan engagement.
    • Set measurable goals for each campaign and continually refine efforts to ensure maximum impact.
    • Communicate performance reports on a weekly basis with leadership and the broader team. 
  2. Digital Campaign Strategy & Execution:
    • Establish KPIs for all digital campaigns and track performance using analytics tools (Google Analytics, social media insights, etc.). 
    • Provide weekly reports on campaign success, identifying trends, audience behavior, and areas for improvement.
    • Adjust marketing strategies based on performance data to maximize campaign success and optimize resources
    • Develop and manage comprehensive digital marketing campaigns across multiple platforms (Google Ads, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, etc.).
    • Collaborate with the marketing, content, and A&R teams to ensure that digital strategies align with artist release schedules, tours, and promotional efforts. 
    • Optimize digital ad strategies to increase streams, views, and overall artist visibility. 
  3. Paid Media Management:
    • Plan and execute paid advertising campaigns across platforms, including search, display, social media, and video ads. 
    • Monitor, optimize, and report on the performance of paid media campaigns, adjusting strategies based on real-time performance data.
    • Manage budgets for digital ad spend, ensuring efficient use of resources to drive maximum ROI.
  4. Data Analysis & Performance Reporting:
    • Use analytics tools (Google Analytics, Facebook Insights, etc.) to measure the performance of digital marketing campaigns, tracking key metrics such as CTR, CPC, and ROI. 
    • Provide regular reports on digital performance to senior leadership, recommending optimizations based on data insights.
    • Use A/B testing and campaign performance data to refine targeting, messaging, and creative strategies.
  5. Social Media & Content Strategy:
    • Lead the social media team in developing daily content calendars, ensuring consistency with release timelines, current events, and artist storylines. 
    • Oversee the creation of content for social media platforms, from video snippets to promotional posts, in collaboration with content creators and social media specialists.
    • Ensure social media campaigns and paid promotions drive engagement, growth, and conversion for Kartel Music’s artists.
  6. Audience Targeting & Growth:
    • Build audience segmentation and targeting strategies, utilizing geo-targeting, demographic, and interest-based techniques to reach fans of Música Mexicana and Latin music. 
    • Leverage data from social platforms, streaming services, and third-party tools to refine and optimize audience targeting.
  7. Team Leadership & Coordination:
    • Manage the digital marketing team, including social media specialists, content creators, and paid media specialists (if applicable). 
    • Provide guidance and mentorship to team members, ensuring alignment on goals and strategies.
    • Collaborate with the A&R, operations, and creative teams to ensure digital marketing efforts are aligned with broader business strategies.
  8. Trendspotting & Innovation:
    • Stay updated with the latest trends in digital marketing, advertising, and social media platforms, ensuring Kartel Music stays ahead of the curve. 
    • Experiment with emerging platforms, tools, and technologies to find new ways to engage audiences and promote artists.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in digital marketing in the music or entertainment business, with a strong focus on paid media, social media management, and performance analysis.
  • Experience building artist identities, understanding target audiences, and how to reach them, enforcing a creative thinking based on data. 
  • Proven track record of running successful digital ad campaigns across platforms such as Google Ads, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok.
  • Knowledgeable in building content strategies, understanding short form video formats.
  • Strong knowledge of audience targeting, digital analytics, and performance optimization.
  • Proficiency in using tools like Google Analytics, Facebook Ads Manager, and third-party social media tools.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with experience managing teams and working cross-functionally.
  • Deep understanding of the Mexican music market and audience behavior, across the US and MX.
